  • Tertiary qualifications in horticulture and education including a Masters degree in Environmental Education
  • Senior lecturer in horticulture with over twenty five years experience
  • Gardening talkback presenter on ABC radio for over 25 years
  • Feature writer and gardening columnist for the Sunday Mail (Queensland) and a range of other horticultural publications
  • Author of four books including three gardening titles namely Successful Gardening in Warm Climates, Organic Vegetable Gardening, Organic Fruit Growing and Love Your Garden
  • Keynote speaker and MC at industry events and garden shows
  • Horticultural workshop presenter to industry groups and companies including the Nursery and Garden Industry Queensland, Bunnings Hardware and local authorities throughout south east Queensland
  • Publishes an independent website providing information on organic gardening
  • Founding member and inaugural president of HMAQ.
  • Life member of Brisbane Organic Growers and the Seed Savers Network
  • Awarded the Year of The Built Environment Medal (2004) for services to the community and the Department of Education & Training and for work in enriching community awareness of horticulture and the environment
